合格者は最低三年のwork experienceとか。。。その職務経験も大概non-profit関連の職が良いって書いてあったり。
Do I really deserve to be a grad school student without meeting the requirements... do I need more preparation...
そんなこんなで考えてるときにリチャードからのメールをみて元気になる。半年くらい前にきたメールだけど、これを見るとやっぱ受験しても良いのかなという気になる。現場の人に認めてもらったような気がして、自信がわく。
You worked on a few things, so you appear in a
number of these reports for charity boards of trustees in UK, Australia etc.
Everyone was very happy with the report backs and so donated again for this
year too ! So an extra thank you for participating. Like for example you
mentioned Chime Dolkar the nursery school teacher. (I will see her in about two
weeks and will say hi from you). Your photos of her nursery were really good,
and your narrative report too, so I will be taking Chime another one year
salary grant as the donor seeing your report donated again. This is partly your
achievement so feel good you have helped Chime's future directly !
It has been so much work here too, rather than
lazing in the sun, as I took on the extra voluntary service task of being Vice
Chairman of my apartment building by the ocean here in Thailand, and did all
the prep recently for a board meeting here ...so many papers i am exhausted. So
I will be very happy to leave in less than two weeks, 29 Oct for a month back
in Pokhara. Trek Aid is like a holiday compared to the workload here !
Hope your Tokyo office routine is not too boring. I could do with your help in
Paljorling camp with the youth / sports club as I have to do construction on
their basketball court in November. I set them a fundraising task - as they are
fit and healthy young people - to get a share of the needed funds which they
completed this summer. They arranged a three day gambling event for their
elders over a festival period !
You were good at aid work because you were
already well adapted with your overland travel experience in India. Nothing
bothered you. But volunteers who come out directly from England find it hard -
once they lose sight of a familiar branch of MacDonalds hamburgers they
mentally 'fall apart', hide in bed or bathroom for days, and so don't achieve
great results. Someone who has already roughed it in south Asia is a much more
valuable aid work asset ! The volunteer professionals like in mid-career taking
a couple months out, doctors, construction engineers etc settle okay, holding
onto their professional niche like a life raft, but students - its a bit up and
down emotionally with the inevitable problems with food, tummy bugs etc. Some
never adapt well. You just sailed through anything I asked your help on without
any problem at all! You must be an exceptional person, very adaptable. I
am sure you will find everything easy and effortless in your future too - like
the next challenges you set yourself , the post-grad degree etc.
Yuko yuko yuko!
